Friday, September 28, 2001 saw the Grand Opening of The Field Library Children’s Room! Celebrated by over 150 friends and dignitaries, our celebration was a wonderful salute to the generosity of our private donors, municipal funding officials, and the Reader’s Digest Foundation Tall Tree Initiative. After many months of patient, hard work, we now have a beautifully furnished Children’s Library, with a new 1,800 square foot expansion that will be used for all our many children’s activities and programs. And best of all, our young patrons will have a modern, 21st century environment coupled with the best in children’s library services! Sibyl Canaan, Director |
