STORY TIMES
The Children’s Library holds many sessions, so call ahead for dates and times. Our programs are for adults with one or two children, not for large groups.
Baby Stories and Play Time Bright-eyed babies up to 35 months and their caregivers will all laugh and clap as they join in the fun of favorite books and songs which are
brought to life with puppets, props and lively librarians. After the literary fun, children share group play as grown-ups get to know one another. Need a refresher course on the Eency-Weency Spider and
other classics? This is the place for you and your baby! No sign-up required.
Stories for 3’s, 4’s and 5’s Preschoolers hear favorite tales and the latest children’s books in their first group setting. Music, finger plays, movement and puppets all play a
part in this session which concludes with a craft project. Pre-registration is required.
Drop-in Storytime Most Fridays at 11:00
a..m., good listeners age 2 and up can pop in to hear terrific stories, move to the music, and end with a simple craft. Do
drop in! No need to register, just wear a smile!
Craft Time
We hold crafts programs for 6-11 year-olds.
Adult helpers are encouraged. Pre-registration is required.
Junior Critics A monthly book discussion
group for kids in 4th through 6th
grades.
HOMEWORK HELP
Teacher in the Library Elementary teachers help kids in grades 1 through
6 get a start on their homework and class projects. Children must bring their assignments and parents may leave their kids with a teacher for up to one hour.
Not held on snow days, school holidays or any day Peekskill schools are not in
session.
CLASS VISITS & GROUP LIBRARY VISITS
Our children's librarians welcome a chance to host a storytime for younger groups or to schedule class visits geared around specific
projects or needs. Scout troops, home schoolers, clubs and other youth organizations are all encouraged to call the Children’s Library for a special library tour time for their members.
