The Field Library Obituary Index is a database of death notices which appeared in Peekskill newspapers from the mid-1800’s to the present.

Initially a card file, the complete print index is now available to search online.  We will continue to add records to the database for years which were not included in the original card file.  

The Field Library Obituary Index uses a shopping cart system which allows you to collect the names for which you would like to receive obituaries. After sending your request, copies of the obituaries will be made from microfilm or microfiche copies of the newspaper and mailed to you along with a bill. It is not necessary to send payment until you have received your obituaries.

Obituaries cost $3.50 each. Checks or money orders are accepted. We do not accept electronic payment at this time.

Microfilm or microfiche copies of most of the newspapers indexed are available to the public in the main reference area of the Field Library.
