Senior Benefits Information Centers (SBICs) help older adults 60 and over and those caring for the elderly achieve a better understanding of Medicare health plans and prescription drug coverage. Information is provided about different types of government programs.

Kaine has traveled the United States and beyond, "absorbing the influence of the best of what the 20th century has to offer", and is fresh off a recent tour down under (Australia, New Zealand and S.E. Asia.)

Join us in the Field Library Gallery from 11:00 to 12:30 for coffee, snacks, and a lively discussion of our February book, No One Cares About Crazy People, by Ron Powers.  The book, copies of which are available at the Field Library Circulation Desk, discusses the schizophrenia of the author's two sons and the family's difficult traverse of America's deeply damaged mental health system.  Powers also shows us how the mental health system got into this shape, and suggests ways we can make things a little easier for the sufferers and for their families.

This series aims to provide information on numerous topics related to race relations and to offer a safe place to share experiences regarding racism, educate ourselves with facts and research about racism, and build relationships so we can support each other’s efforts to accept others without prejudice and arise to transform our community. Each month we will examine the various manifestations of racism and explore potential solutions.
