HVSF invites our neighbors to participate in free community Playwriting Workshops this June in libraries throughout the Hudson Valley! Everyone has an idea for a story; don’t miss the chance to bring your story to life! Led by Christine Scarfuto, Literary Manager at Long Wharf Theatre, these two-hour workshops will feature exercises that teach citizen writers the basics of playwriting and storytelling.
This year, the theme is "Coming Home" -- inspired by HVSF's community production of RIP VAN WINKLE.

Movie Mondays: PARIAH

A world premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, the contemporary drama Pariah is the feature-length expansion of writer/director Dee Rees’ award-winning 2007 short film Pariah. Spike Lee is among the feature’s executive producers. At Sundance, cinematographer Bradford Young was honored with the [U.S. Dramatic Competition] Excellence in Cinematography Award.

The Contemporary Fiction Book Group will be reading and discussing the classic, Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, on June 12, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in The Field Library Gallery.  

Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk.
