A Gentleman in Moscow is the bestselling story of Count Alexander Rostov, condemned by a Bolshevik Tribunal in 1922 to house arrest  in an attic room at the Hotel Metropol in Moscow, overlooking the Kremlin.  As the Count witnesses the tumultuous history of the early days of the Soviet Union, he begins to broaden his emotional world despite his restricted circumstances.
