Field Notes Book Group

Join the members of the Field Notes Book Group on Saturday, December 16, 2017, in the Field Library Gallery, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as we discuss this month's selection, The Wicked Boy: The Mystery of a Victorian Child Murderer by Kate Summerscale.  This nonfiction true historical crime book describes the case of Robert and Nattie Coombs, a 13 year old and 12 year old who murdered their mother and were put on trial for the murder.  Robert, the older of the two, was found to be insane and sent to Broadmoor, the infamous insane asylum.  A nonfiction book as vivid and engrossing as the best thriller, The Wicked Boy won the 2017 Edgar Award for Best Fact Crime Book.  Come and join us for coffee and donuts and exhilarating discussions of Victorian society, murder, madness and adolescence.  Books are available for checkout at the Field Library Circulation Desk.
