We’re ready with information to help you with life, school, friends and work, and also to listen to your suggestions. Your Teen/Young Adult collection includes the latest in fiction, poetry, assignment-reading, non-fiction, graphic novels, and audio-books. The Teen Street Station booth area also has free wi-fi Internet access available, so bring your laptops!
Our monthly teen Poetry Slam! performance series brings you renowned local, national and international artists, followed by open mike, refreshments and pizza ~ everybody is welcome! Our 2007 upcoming calendar of Poetry Slam! performers includes:
- Scott Woods - Wednesday, March 5, 3:30 p.m.
Scott Woods, author of several books, is the president of Poetry Slam, Inc. and founder of both The Writers’ Block Poetry Night, an open mike series in Columbus, Ohio, and the poetry group, The Black Air Poets.
- “Mighty” Mike McGee - Wednesday April 2, 3:30 p.m.
Mike is a spoken word performer and comedian from California who won the 2003 “Individual” category at the National Poetry Slam! The same year, he co-founded the Vancouver, British Columbia-based “talk-rock” trio, Tons of Fun University. He has also performed in the Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry on HBO.
