Field of Mystery Book Group

The Field of Mystery Book Group will meet downstairs in the program room to discuss our August selection, The Survivors, by Jane Harper.  Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk.

Jane Harper is a master at depicting Australia, especially the ravages of guilt and secrets working on small, insular communities.  Kieran Elliott was responsible for a disaster that resulted in the death of his only brother.  He left his hometown, a shore community on Tasmania, and created a new life for himself, with a wife and child, elsewhere.  But when his father's deteriorating condition requires him to be moved to a nursing home, Kieran's mother inssits on his return.  When a body washes up on the beach, all the secrets of the past in that small community begin to resurface.
