Field of Mystery Book Group

The Field of Mystery Book Group will meet virtually by zoom on April 3, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to discuss our April selection, The Chimney Sweeper's Boy, by Ruth Rendell, writing as Barbara Vine.
The late Ruth Rendell is one of the greatest mystery writers of all time, and so is a natural for our group to read. The Chimney Sweeper's Boy involves a famous and critically acclaimed novelist who dies suddenly. His grief-stricken daughter decides to write his biography, but as she starts looking into her father's past, her own life is torn apart as she realizes the reasons for the way her parents' marriage seemed to work, the way her father kept reinventing himself, and even some terrible insights into a long unsolved murder.
Copies of the book will be available at the Field Library Circulation Desk. If you are not a member of the group but wish to join the discussion, please contact Nora Mulligan at nmulligan@wlsmail.org for a link the week of the meeting.
