Field Notes Book Group

Saturday, January 25, 2020 - 11:00am to 12:30pm

Join the Field Notes Book Group on Saturday, December 21, from 11 to 12:30 at the Teen Zone in the Field Library for coffee, snacks and a lively discussion of this month's book, Britt-Marie Was Here, by Fredrik Backman.  Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk.

Britt-Marie would tell you she's an ordinary person, not at all judgmental or passive aggressive.  Other people, dealing with her, would disagree (vehemently!).  She just knows what's right and what isn't, and she's not going to deal with things that aren't.  Until her husband cheats on her with another woman and Britt-Marie, a middle aged woman, is thrown into the world of job hunting, and, worse yet, into a job taking care of a building in a small town in the middle of nowhere, where she's also expected to lead a children's soccer team to victory.  There's more to Britt-Marie than most people encounter, and maybe her time in this small town will give her a chance to let that better self out.

As always, coffee and refreshments will be available. Join us for what promises to be an interesting discussion.
