Field Notes Book Group
On December 19, 2020, from 11 to 12:30, the Field Notes Book Group will meet via zoom to discuss December's selection, Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
Good Omens takes a warped, twisted and incredibly funny look at the Apocalypse, as you would expect from the work of two such great authors. From the time of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, the angel with the flaming sword (Aziraphale) and the snake with the apple (Crowley), have been hanging around on earth, dealing with humans, and they've discovered they kind of like the earth and its inhabitants, and each other's company, to the point where they want to stop the Apocalypse when the time rolls around. The Antichrist isn't where and what he's supposed to be, but the Four Horsemen are gathering anyway, and an angel and demon, together with an unusual Antichrist, stand in the way of the end of the world.
Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk of The Field Library. If you are not already in the book group but want to join the discussion, please email Nora Mulligan (firstname.lastname@example.org) by December 14 to get the zoom invitation.
