Field Notes Book Group

The Field Notes Book Group will meet via zoom on January 16, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  We will be discussing Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World, by David Epstein.  Copies will be available at the Circulation Desk.

This nonfiction book challenges the popular conception that in order to be a true success in your field, you have to identify your passion at an early age and focus all your energies and practices on that field.  The author proposes that the people who are most successful are people who have tried different fields, worked in different areas, and can bring a wider perspective to problems in their chosen field.
