Statement on Racism and Social Injustice

As we face some of the most difficult challenges we have ever seen, The Field Library affirms its commitment to champion diversity, inclusion, equity, and open access to informtion. We stand with the New York Library Association (NYLA) and the New York Black Librarians Caucus (NYBLC), echo the sentiments of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA), and the American Library Association (ALA), in their condemnation of violence and racism toward Black people and all People of Color.

The Field Library is a place that welcomes all and does not and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origina, religion, gender, gender expression, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in its collections, activities, operations, and programs.

As we look forward to our reopening, we are mindful of the hardships our community has faced with the pandemic and the horrific death of George Floyd and the protests that have followed.

MIssion Statement

The mission of The Field Library is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen the City of Peekskill and Town of Cortlandt community by offering free and open access to library services.
