Help The Field Library of Peekskill and Cortlandt Grow!
The Field Library Board of Trustees - which supports the public library of Peekskill and Cortlandt - is looking for trustees and committee members.
The Field Library is growing along with our populations, making it one of the most active libraries in Westchester County.  We are in the midst of a major renovation, and have expanded our space to include a new teen activity room, a STEM lab, and a programming room. And, new programs - both in person and virtual - are in the works.
As the library continues to grow, the Board of Trustees needs new trustees and committee members to work with our Library Director and support her plans and management of the library. Trustees and committee members attend monthly meetings, and are able to be available periodically for other meetings and events.  You can live or work in Peekskill or the Lakeland School District part of Cortlandt.
If you are interested contact Melinda Cosentino at mcosentino@thefieldlibrary.org, Joe Galella at jpgefg@aol.com, or Alan Most at alanhmost@gmail.com and we'll be in touch to speak with you. Thank you.
Strategic Plan
The Field Library is setting a strategy for the next five years to guide our investment in people, facilities, and materials. The Strategic Plan is available below.
MIssion Statement

The mission of The Field Library is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen the City of Peekskill and Town of Cortlandt community by offering free and open access to library services.

Statement on Racism and Social Injustice

As we face some of the most difficult challenges we have ever seen, The Field Library affirms its commitment to champion diversity, inclusion, equity, and open access to information. We stand with the New York Library Association (NYLA) and the New York Black Librarians Caucus (NYBLC), echo the sentiments of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA), Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA) and the American Library Association (ALA), in their condemnation of violence and racism toward Black people, Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander communities, and all People of Color.

The Field Library is a place that welcomes all and does not and will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, gender, gender expression, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in its collections, activities, operations, and programs.

The Field Library is located at 4 Nelson Avenue in downtown Peekskill, New York. A short walk from the Hudson River and MetroNorth, we are Peekskill's major information source and a long standing community hub.
